France Attack reaction: 'This is not against Muslims'

How can France best navigate questions surrounding secularism, freedom of expression, extremism and Islamophobia? That's a question being asked following the murder of three people in a knife attack in the Notre Dame Basilica in Nice. The attacker, a 21 year old Tunisian immigrant, was shot by police and is now in hospital.

Religious tensions were already at an all time high following the killing two weeks' ago of a history teacher, Samuel Paty, after he showed students a picture of the Prophet Muhammed. The trial related to the deadly attack on the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in 2015 is also ongoing.
