Covid-19 and Nigeria’s event planning industry
Parties in Nigeria, especially weddings, are big, lavish, and expensive. While experts have yet to agree on how much exactly Nigerians spend on parties every year, a 2013 report suggests that $70m was spent on parties in Lagos alone in just five months in that year.
The music industry in sub-Saharan Africa has been booming in recent years with Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa generating a combined revenue of $156.4 million in 2019.
