Human-made objects to outweigh living things
We live in an age of consumption and construction, where all too often bigger is automatically thought of as better.
Now scientists say the weight of all human-made objects on earth will likely exceed the weight of living things for the first time this year.
The study was carried out by scientists at the Weizmann Institute of Sciences in Israel. Lead researcher, Professor Ron Milo outlines how they reached their conclusion and the impact of humanity on the world.
"I would not want to got back to not having all those good things we enjoy, but I think there's a sense of responsibility that comes with that understanding... that we're affecting the biosphere in such a way."
