Figen Murray
Martyn Hett would have celebrated his 33rd birthday earlier in December. But his life was ended abruptly, cruelly, violently, three years ago in the Manchester Arena terror attack – one of 22 people murdered that day. Since then, Martyn’s mum, Figen Murray, has championed a change in the law to require increased security in crowded public spaces and venues, and she’s become deeply involved in efforts to protect young people from radicalisation. All of this, she says, is a very deliberate choice on her part to live a life of shaped and coloured by hope. William Crawley spoke to Figen Murray .
