'We know the hearts of Derry are with us' - Liam Curran
The funeral will take place this afternoon of the Derry Cty Legend Willie Curran, who died this week at the age of 90. He signed for the club as a teenager, which began more than 7 decades of association with the Candystripes.
A centre half in his playing days, he lined up in the famous 1954 Irish Cup final trilogy when Derry City lifted the trophy beating Glentoran 1-0 after two drawn games. He also played a huge role volunteering with the club, being awarded lifetime volunteer award in 2018 in-front of a packed Brandywell. Richard O'Reilly spoke to his son Liam.
