Disabled Rider celebrates publication of first children's book

Jade Leahy lives in Cattistock - she loves all things horse and equestrian-related, but she also faces daily challenges with mobility and balance.

Two years ago Jade parted company with her beloved horse Odin at the grand old age of 35. In his memory, she's written her first children's book called "Horses can Roll but they can't Roller Skate". It was published during the first week of 2021.

It's about a disabled girl, Mollie, and her close relationship with Odin, a fjord horse. Jade told 大象传媒 Radio Solent reporter Laurence Herdman: "I hope that people love him, and I hope that you know my little horse spreads a little bit of joy in quite difficult times. Also, people will be supporting others with challenges to enjoy horse riding and to get benefit from that, because every copy sold will donate 10% to the Riding for the Disabled Association."
