Is Africa ready for continental free trade?
January 1st marked the beginning of this very important initiative on the African continent, opening a market of over a billion people. ´óÏó´«Ã½ Africa Business Editor Zawadi Mudibo was in Accra Ghana, the headquarters of the African Continental Free trade secretariat, to find out what measures have been put in place to bring this vision into reality.
Free trading was postponed from July 1st, 2020, to begin this year. However, free trading means many different things to many different people, but the bottom-line is, will African entrepreneurs see more money in their pockets or not? And how will it improve the living standards of the ordinary man?
