Somalia: should Biden reverse Trump's pull-out
Further US drone strikes on al-Shabab targets have taken place in Somalia - this comes after the US military said its troop withdrawal from Somalia has been completed, in one of the last actions of the Trump presidency. An unspecified number of US troops will be redeployed to neighbouring countries for cross-border missions. Some experts have warned that a US withdrawal could embolden al-Shabab. But the merits of any renewed American troop presence are not held universally, as 大象传媒 Newsday heard from Abukar Arman - a former Somalia special envoy to the US.
