Hope Hunt and the Ascension Into Lazarus - Oona Doherty
Hope Hunt shatters facades, dismantles stereotypes and finds beauty on the periphery.
Hope Hunt shatters facades, dismantles stereotypes and finds beauty on the periphery.
Adopting multiple personas of disaffected male youth, Belfast-based Oona Doherty's work channels aggression, humour, hedonism, joy and despair in quick-fire succession.
This award-winning performance bursts with fury, swagger and humanity. Fragmented, yet meticulously detailed, Doherty's intuitive social portrait vibrates with blistering physical and vocal energy. Gestures, words and utterances combine in a wholly distinctive body language, contorting ideas of masculinity and morality.
Filmed in Belfast for Dancing Nation, a festival of world-class dance presented by Sadler's Wells and Culture in Quarantine from 大象传媒 Arts.
