Last year the United States celebrated the launch of a Space X rocket from Florida that would take astronauts to the International Space Station. Well, a much more modest launch, but in its own way significant, took place in Maine at the weekend. Stardust 1.0 has become the first commercial rocket powered by a bio-derived fuel using a secret ingredient found on farms.

Seth Lockman is communications director for bluShift Aerospace, the company behind the project. He says that other than the livestream of the event crashing - everything went 'just about perfect'.

"We don't plan to compete with Space X directly, we plan to launch very small payloads, 30kg or less... We know it's going to be an incredible amount of hard work, but we made world history today."
