What鈥檚 going on with surrogacy in Kenya?

The Kenyan president says there aren鈥檛 any laws regulating surrogacy in Kenya - and yet many families seem to be going down that route. What's it like for them?

Having children through surrogacy isn鈥檛 simple.

In fact, in most African countries, it鈥檚 still such a novel idea that most of them don鈥檛 actually have laws in place to deal with such cases.

Take Kenya: just last week, President Kenyatta spoke about the legal void there is around surrogacy.

He did it, as he rejected a law that would have given time off work to parents of adopted children or those born through surrogacy.

But for the mothers and fathers going through this experience, what types of obstacles stand in their way?
