Swim therapy: Mariam, a young woman in Nigeria, beat depression by swimming
The World Health Organization estimates that more than 264 million people of all ages globally suffer depression. One of the fatal consequences of depression is death by suicide. Close to 800 000 people die due to suicide every year. In this report, the 大象传媒's Charles Mgbolu from Lagos, Nigeria brings us the story of Mariam, a young woman who was able to beat depression by engaging in a sport many are yet to discover as an immense benefit to mental health.
