Why are Eritrean troops in Ethiopia?
Conflict in Ethiopia鈥檚 Tigray region has been going on for months, and troops from neighbouring Eritrea have been blamed for some of the worst violence. How did they get involved?

Conflict in Ethiopia鈥檚 Tigray region has been going on for months now - and troops from neighbouring Eritrea have been accused of joining the fight.
And that鈥檚 not the end of the story.
The UN and human rights groups have also blamed them for some of the worst violence in the region, including potential crimes against humanity.
But the Eritrean government says their soldiers couldn鈥檛 have done any of those things, because they didn鈥檛 actually enter Ethiopia in the first place.
