What does this 17th century Dutch canal smell like?
Have you ever wondered what kind of smell there was from a 17th century canal? Well a museum in the Netherlands is trying to bring that experience to a modern audience.
The idea is to recreate the smells associated with the pictures when they were painted. Ariane van Suchtelen is curator of the Mauritshuis museum in the Hague which houses a collection of Dutch art from the 17th Century.
