Mehdi Maloof is known for being unapologetically real, philosophical and hilarious he's gathered a cult following with his soulful lyrics which are inspired by writers like Ashfaq Ahmed, as well as Islamic and Greek philosophers including the likes of Arab Andalusian philosopher Ibn Arabi and Sufi Saint Data Gunj Baksh.

In the very first episode of this season of Coke Studio, he performs Dil Khirki written, composed and performed by Maloof he told Talat-Farooq Awan that the song wasn't initially meant to be a happy one.
