Hannah grew up relying on her parents for support due to her disabilities. Through the Duke of Edinburgh Award she became involved in sport and learnt to accept that her wheelchair could enable her to do things like everyone else.

Hannah trained with the Godiva Harriers in Coventry and the wheelchair racing team. met the Duke several times
