Digitizing Kenya's flower market
Flowers in Kenya are expensive, often times unavailable. The local supply is of poor quality, a matter that poses a big challenge for local florists. Most flower farms concentrate on the international export market and only sell ‘rejects’ (those that do not meet export standards) to the local market. The culture of using flowers on day-to-day activities in Kenya is also low, and it’s common to find artificial flowers being used for décor in events such as weddings, funerals, in offices, etc.
