Fish dying: An annual phenomenon gone rogue
The decaying fish first were first spotted floating on Ugandan waters last December and have now spread to Kenyan side of Africa’s largest freshwater lake, which also feeds Tanzania. Scientists say the Nile Perch species is choking to death due to low oxygen levels in the lake, which have been worsened by recent storms in the region.
