'My arm got stuck under a shark's jaw': the club for survivors of shark attacks
The Bite Club is an exclusive club that you can only join if you have been attacked by a shark, 鈥媜r be related to someone who has. And it's growing in popularity.
The club was founded by Dave Pearson, who was bitten by a shark when he was out surfing on the beach in Australia, the deadliest country in the world for shark bites. He told Newsday:
鈥淏ite Club is a peer support group where people who have been through a quite traumatic experience can communicate with others who have been through the same experience. I was in the water for less than ten minutes when it happened to me. My arm got stuck under its top jaw, and the top teeth are razor sharp and they just took my forearm muscle straight off, and it did an enormous amount of damage in literally seconds.鈥
