Division over future of Shaftesbury High Street pedestrianisation
A campaign to keep Shaftesbury High Street free from traffic on a permanent basis has divided opinion among traders and shoppers.
The year long part-pedestrianisation has been extended by four weeks in line with the delay in lifting UK lockdown rules.
Shaftesbury Town Council recently voted in favour of keeping the High Street as a car free zone. A final decision rests with Dorset Council.
