Music festivals are back on
Festivals in the UK are back on - at least in theory - just in time for the notorious British weather. But with rules…. and plenty of them. And restrictions combined with the inability of many festivals to get cancellation insurance has meant that only a few will materialise. One event that did go ahead as planned was the Bigfoot craft beer and music festival at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire, in the English midlands..
Our soggy but very happy reporter, Elizabeth Hotson, talks to Bobby Gillespie, lead singer of Primal Scream; plus Al Greenwood, drummer with the indie rock band Sports Team. There is no hiding the enthusiasm for the band’s first live gig in more than a year. Greg Wells, the festival’s co-founder says the slog has been worth it, plus Paul McNamee, from Verdant Seafood Bar, is cautiously optimistic about the year ahead.
