Following the assassination of Haiti's President Jovenel Moïse, four suspects have been killed and two detained by the police. There are reports that the streets of Haiti have been deserted after the killing, although there have been outbursts of violence as the manhunt for those involved in the assassination continues.

Pascale Solages is an activist with the movement, Nou Pap Doumi, which is Creole for 'We Don't Sleep' and campaigns against corruption. She says that murders and kidnappings are commonplace in Port-au-Prince, and that corruption is widespread. She appeals for international support to help the Haitian people.

'We have crimes, assassinations and death everyday. The population lives as if they don't know if they will live tomorrow.'
