Athletics - Men's Long Jump & Women's 100m Hurdles finals

Gold medals to be won in the men's long jump and women's 100m hurdles, plus GB's Laura Muir looking to progress in the 1500m heats.

Laura Muir begins her bid to win a first major championship medal outdoors and has decided to focus solely on the 1500m after initially being selected to run the 800m. Muir finished seventh in Rio 2016 and has finished just outside the medals at the World Championships in 2015, 2017 and 2019. Fellow Brits Revee Walcott-Nolan and Katie Snowden also look to progress in their heats. In the men's long jump final, Cuba's world indoor champion Juan Miguel Echevarria topped qualifying but faces competition from Jamaica's world outdoor champion Tajay Gayle and European champion Miltiadis Tentoglou of Greece. No Brits qualified for the women's 100m hurdles final but history beckons in this hotly contested race. Puerto Rico's Jasmine Camacho-Quinn set an Olympic record of 12.26 seconds in the semi-finals but comes up against USA's current world champion Kendra Harrison - seeking a fourth victory for USA from the last five Olympics.
