The winners will play either France or Japan with the aim of winning their seventh straight gold medal in the women鈥檚 event. Serbia finished their pool stages second to Spain, with five points. They then had to overcome China on their way to today's semi final. The US topped their pool with six points before toppling Australia in the quarter-finals. The bronze medal match will take place on 7th August, with the final on Sunday.
In the second semi-final, Japan take on France for the right to compete for the gold medal. The host nation are looking to appear in their first ever Olympic basketball final but France will pose a serious obstacle to that dream.

April Ross and Alix Klineman of the US take on Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Artacho del Solar of Australia at Shiokaze Park. April Ross is looking to become the first beach volleyball player to win bronze, silver and gold at the Olympics - she needs the gold to complete her collection. The Australian pairing had to overcome Anastasija Krav膷enoka and T墨na Graudi艈a of Latvia, who now play in the bronze medal match against Joana Heidrich and Anouk Verg茅-D茅pr茅 of Switzerland.
Sweden and France face off in the first semi-final of the women's Handball. In what is set to be a close game, the winners will face either the Russian Olympic Committee or Norway in the gold medal match.
In the second of the handball semi-finals, the Russian Olympic Committee and Norway compete for a place against either France or Sweden in the gold medal match. These two sides last met in the Olympic knock out stages in the 2008 final. Since then, Norway won gold in 2012 and Russia took top spot in Rio. The gold medal match takes place at 07:00 BST on Sunday while the bronze medal match takes place before that, at 03:00 BST.

Serbia are ranked number six in the world and came through a quarter-final with Italy. The winners will play either South Korea or Brazil in the gold medal match on Sunday. South Korea and Brazil face off in the second semi-final for a spot against the US or Serbia. The Brazilian side are ranked number two in the world and came through a quarter-final against the Russian Olympic Committee 3-1.
There are yet more bouts in the ring, including GB鈥檚 Lauren Price. The Welsh athlete is competing in her semi-final of the middleweight division and has now guaranteed at least a silver medal. She is up against a rival of hers, Nouchka Fontijn of the Netherlands, and it鈥檒l no doubt go down to the wire.
Fighting for the right to face Price or Fontijn in the final is Zenfira Magomedalieva and Li Qian. Qian is one of the highest ranked athletes in the division and will be overwhelming favourite for the bout but her Russian opponent has changed fighting divisions and will pose her challenges. In the first of the two lightweight semi-finals, the US' Keyshawn Davis and Armenia's Hovhannes Bachkov face off for a spot in the gold medal match. Fighting for a spot in the light gold medal match against the American or Armenian is Andy Cruz of Cuba and Harry Garside of Australia. In the final bout of the session, the men's heavyweight men's gold is decided. Julio la Cruz of Cuba and Muslim Gadzhimagomedov of the Russian Olympic Committee fight for Olympic glory in the showpiece event.
