Day 12: 大象传媒 One - 00:00 - 15:00

Golden hopes in the sailing as well as athletics, track cycling, boxing medal bouts and British history in both the skateboarding and open water swimming.

The women's event launched the open water events at Tokyo 2020. In competing, GB's Alice Darling becomes the first black female swimmer to represent the nation at the Olympics. The course is situated at Odaiba Bay and used the same area of water as the triathlon events. Consisting of seven laps of 1.5km, the swimmers tactically navigate the course, often choosing to skip or miss hydrating stations. The event tests endurance across the 10km course in very testing conditions, which saw the water temperature rise to 30 degrees.

GB could see a new record for youngest medalist in the skateboarding. Sky Brown is 13 years old and was aiming to grab a medal in the Olympic skate park. The previous youngest medal winner was 15-year-old Sarah Hardcastle, who silver and bronze at the 1984 Atlanta games.

Katarina Johnson-Thompson begins her assault on the heptathlon gold medal, currently held by Nafissatou Thiam of Belgium. The Brit won the World Championships in 2019 but has had a serious Achilles injury over the winter. The decathlon and javelin also start today, while the 200m men's semi-finals are contested this morning, before the final later. There's only one gold awarded this morning, in the women's 400m hurdles, where US duo McLaughlin and Muhammad and Bol of the Netherlands have been favorites long before touching down in Tokyo.

In a repeat of the 2016 women's hockey final Great Britain take on the Netherlands, this time in the semi-finals. GB came through a penalty shootout againt Germany to make it to this match, which will decide who goes into the gold medal match. The Netherlands have been in fine form since their 2016 loss, losing on very few occasions.

World number one and world number two, the US and Australia respectively, face off in the women's basketball quarter-finals. The US have a very strong history in this sport, winning eight of the 11 golds in the sport's history, Australia have picked up three silver medals but are yet to take a gold.

GB's Hannah Mills and Eilidh McIntyre were looking to secure gold in the women's 470 sailing class. Should she medal, Mills will become the most successful female Olympic sailor in history, and will defend the title she won in Rio. The wider GB sailing side will become the most successful in the nations history with a gold medal in the 470. History on the line everywhere!

In the ring, boxing super-heavyweight, Frazer Clarke, was looking to secure a place in the final. Clarke would fight Uzbekistan鈥檚 Bakhodir Jalolov for a spot in the gold medal match. The super-heavyweight boxer is guaranteed a medal already with losers of semi-finals both given a bronze. Ben Whittaker was going in the light-heavyweight gold medal match, where he'd fight Cuba's Arlen Lopez. With yet another guaranteed medal for GB, the Tokyo games have been the most successful, in terms of medal haul, for GB boxing in recent times.

Jason Kenny and Jack Calin went in the men's sprint on thew banks of the velodrome. Britain have had success in this discipline in the past and both will be looking to progress from the qualifying rides.

Katarina Johnson-Thompson continues her heptathlon with the shot put and 200m. The Brit will be looking to move up the leader board and launch a points attack on the current medalists. The men's decathlon continues with the high jump and 400m events. Medal's are awarded in the women's 300m steeplechase, the men's hammer throw and the 800m final. The showpiece event of the evening session will be the men's 200m final, where Canadian de Grasse will hope to hold off a field which includes three Americans to win gold.

GB were looking to win gold in the individual show jumping event and follow in the footsteps of Nick Skelton and his horse Big Star, who won gold in Rio. Ben Meher and Explosion W are strong chances for a medal having qualified in top spot. Fellow Britons Harry Charles and Scott Brash were also looking for medals. It can be common in equestrian show jumping for there to be a jump-off, whereby riders and horses with equal scores face off again to decide the medals. Completing the course clean and without time penalty is key, and a single fence could be the difference between gold and fourth.

The men's +109kg weightlifting class awarded medals today with Lasha Talakhadze of Georgia the clear favoruite. Some of these athletes could be pushing weights in excess of 450kg (70 stone) and the medals could be awarded to any of the seven competitors in Group A.

Plus replays from the men's high bar.
