NHS workers going green to offset Covid footprint

For the last 18 months, NHS staff in Cardiff have been working tirelessly treating Covid patients. Now they're engaged in a new challenge - to help save the planet.

Planet Earth is fast approaching a very dangerous tipping point. In 2021, floods in Germany, Belgium and China have wreaked havoc - killing hundreds. Wildfires continue to devastate parts of North America, Greece, Turkey and Russia.

The United Nations says the situation is a code red for humanity. But it says if we act now, a climate catastrophe can be averted.

Governments have a huge part to play in tackling climate change - and the hope is they will agree on a plan at the UN鈥檚 climate summit in Glasgow in November - COP26.

But individuals can play a part too. In the latest episode of our new podcast 5 Minutes On, 大象传媒 News Health, Science and Environment correspondent Laura Foster speaks to NHS workers in Cardiff. They've spent the last 18 months trying to protect people from Covid - and are now turning to nature to save the planet.
