Rescue and aid efforts are still underway in Haiti, after a powerful magnitude 7.2 earthquake left more than 1,400 people dead at the weekend. But work is being hampered as Tropical Storm Grace makes landfall - soaking people desperately trying to shelter in tents after losing their homes.

Along with the country's other problems of the coronavirus pandemic, a presidential assassination and gang violence, this will all make it incredibly difficult for people to rebuild.

Bocchit Edmond is Haiti鈥檚 Ambassador to the US.

"I understand the situation in Afghanistan will make it even harder for the international community to concentrate and to bring some necessary assistance and aid to Haiti. What we are doing now is trying to do our own internal effort to make sure that the little we can have from the international community we can work with it. But the most important thing is we Haitians we have to find a way to dig our way out."
