European Union seeks to standardise all chargers
Many of us will probably have experienced this at one time or another - you forget the charger for your mobile device, and want to borrow one but no-one has the same connection as you as they have different brands -- so you're stuck without power. Well, the European Union wants to change that - by requiring a common charger for all makes of mobile devices, such as phones, tablets, and headphones.
On Thursday, the European Commission, which proposes EU legislation, will present the plan to its members. Sean Hollister, a senior editor at the US technology website 'The Verge' thinks Apple will do one of two things: build portless devices or extend its use of adaptors.
