Afghanistan: Fears for 220 female judges now in hiding from the Taliban

A 大象传媒 investigation聽has discovered more than 220 female former judges are now in hiding in Afghanistan. All say they are fleeing from the men they put away for deadly violence against women when they were free to work. During the Taliban takeover, thousands of convicted criminals were released from prisons across the country. One former Afghan judge, Marzia Babakarkhail, who now lives in the UK, has been in constant touch with her former colleagues. She survived two Taliban attempts on her life, and she has been calling for the urgent evacuation of all female former judges.
