Climate activism in South Africa: The schoolkids are the most passionate

Climate change is having a growing impact on the African continent and contributing to food insecurity, population displacement and stress on water resources. Anga Mbeyiya is a climate activist based in South Africa. She says that food price increases, snow in "places that have never experienced cold weather before" and flooding are all signs that the climate is changing there.

Anga works to raise awareness about climate change and how to tackle it, and has found that the younger generation are more enthusiastic about the topic than her mother's generation. "We get more support from the young. The primary school kids are eager and more passionate. I realise I'm planting the seed and that lingers in their minds."
