Former American University of Afghanistan student fears for her life
'As an AU graduate and a working female... we don't have a future here. We are considered as US spies by the Taliban.'
The hashtag #EvacuateAUAFAlumni has been trending in Afghanistan this week. Former students of the American University of Afghanistan say their connection with the US institution puts them at risk from the Taliban.
A former female student there has been speaking with 大象传媒 OS.
"I've been a working woman since 2015," she tells us, "right now I'm 24/7 at home, even if it's for basic necessities my mum goes out."
"It's not only me. There are so many people who are living in the same situation."
"We were called for immediate evacuation on 27 August... but then at 3pm we received an another email that the process had been cancelled."
"As an AU graduate and a working female... we don't have a future here. We are considered as US spies by the Taliban. We are working to find a way out and all we need is some kind of support."
