Fancy doing a "Three Places" piece?
Pick three places, ideally in Suffolk or Norfolk, which have a specific meaning or personal story attached. If you can physically go to them and record then that's great, or just describe them (as if you are imagining yourself there!)
Record a short ramble about each one. I will edit together and play on the radio.
Recording.
Record into the audio notes app on your phone. It's best to do bursts of 1-2 minutes at time so they are easy to share.
You can then email to jon.wright2@bbc.co.uk (but there's a 10MB limit).
If you are keen and have your own digital recorder, then best to use wetransfer to send them.
Tips - the mic is in the bottom of your phone. Careful of wind (?) if you are outside then use your coat as a shield or pop a sock on the end!
Lots of nice ambient sounds - things happening, descriptions of the places/feelings etc.
Don't prepare! It's best if you just say what comes into your head. If you go horribly wrong, just start again. I will edit ums and errs and make it sound nice and fluent.
There鈥檚 no real time/length requirement, just do what you feel. Final pieces can be 3 minutes up to 10-15.
This is ongoing, so there's no time pressure. Also, feel free to pass on to anyone else you think might be interested. It's all about getting different voices and stories onto the radio.
