'We won't have hate in L8' local nans get together to beat racism after terror bomb

This time last week, residents in a Liverpool street were waking up inside a police cordon, as counter-terrorism officers searched the home of the man who died in the bomb explosion outside the Women's Hospital the previous day.

Police have revealed the flat on Rutland Avenue, rented by Emad Al Swealmeen, was used for making his improvised device.

He used ball bearings to create shrapnel which, if detonated, would have caused serious injuries or death.

Meanwhile, police and local authority leaders have praised the people of the city for standing "shoulder to shoulder".

Pat Harvey, who's lived in the local area for more than 30 years, was photographed with two other women, outside the hospital last week, with a banner saying "No Hate in Liverpool 8...", she spoke with Paul Salt on 大象传媒 Radio Merseyside along with resident of Rutland Avenue, Roisin Egan.
