Bookseller James Daunt was the founder of Daunt Books, and became known as 'the man who saved Waterstones'. In 2019 he became the CEO of American bookshop chain Barnes & Noble, after it was purchased by Waterstones' parent company. Winifred Robinson talks to him about the prospects for books this Christmas, how book shops are now faring after lockdowns and his comparisons between the US and UK book markets.
