Scamming the scammers
Scamming people out of their money has become a multibillion dollar global industry. You know the sort of thing: a phone call from someone promising to fix a non-existent computer problem. A text with a link to claim compensation for an accident you never had. An email saying a member of your family is in trouble abroad, and you must send cash urgently. The pandemic has seen a boom in this sort of fraud. Now though, a growing band of people calling themselves 鈥渟cambaiters鈥 are trying to get revenge, as Mike Johnson has been finding out.
