How is Covid affecting France's ski season?
France is closing all its nightclubs to stem the spread of Covid-19 and the new variant, Omicron. It means that along with tightening restrictions – not just in France but across Europe - it’s another reason why potential visitors might give the slopes a miss this year.
The ski industry is an important part of the French economy, with an annual turnover of 12 billion euros and it employs 200,000 people. So how is it coping? Here's the CEO of the Val d’Isère ski resort in the French Alps, Christophe Lavaut.
