John set-up a disability and access branch of the tennis club which has now been running for 11 years. He has no family ties to the club, and has been key to fundraising, including 拢42k for floodlights.

As chair since 2011 and a member for many years prior to that, John has been fundamental to the sustained growth of the disability sessions especially, which now cater for 31 people a week, his inclusive approach to the club has allowed many people to see tennis as something that is for them.
