Fit Mums and Friends started in 2009 to bring women together to get active. It has grown to be all-inclusive, including children and dads, with 11 adult groups and 4 junior athletics groups across Hull.

After her husband died in late 2020, Sam created a support-activity group for people grieving and experiencing isolation.

She has taken her work into East Riding and Hull schools to offer sport and athletics sessions to children in areas of high deprivation, where there was no offering previously.
