Betty set up the first Women’s Basketball Club in the UK in 1961, and continues to provide opportunities for women to play, and supporting players off-court who are living in challenging circumstances.

Covid-19 meant that the club was nearly wound up however, Betty’s efforts have ensured it continues.

Players visit local schools to provide sessions and inspiration for girls to play, and during the last year she helped create a ‘bubble’ league so that matches could go on.
