Rise in alcohol-related deaths during lockdown

When lockdown first hit and you had to stay at home - did you start having an extra drink or two?

Many turned to alcohol and sadly that's been reflected in the latest Public Health England figures.

Alcohol deaths rose in Liverpool, to 217 from 201 in 2020, with alcohol admissions going up in Halton and Warrington as well.

The data has been analysed by the UK Addiction Treatment Group, who have a rehab centre in Runcorn.

Jenna Veerapen, is the Rehab Manager.
