HMS Bronington: Campaign to save historic ship
A campaign has been launched to save an ex-Royal Navy minesweeper, which has been left to rot at Birkenhead Dock.
The HMS Bronington was once commanded by the Prince of Wales and is one of the last naval combat vessels to feature a wooden hull, which campaigners say makes it historically important
The ship was decommissioned sin 1988 and is now in a sorry state after sinking at its moorings overnight in March 2016.
A fundraising campaign has now been created, to prevent the vessel from being scrapped and for it to be restored at nearby Cammell Laird shipyard.
Mike McBride is from the HMS Bronington Preservation Trust.
