The flamboyant singer, Meat Loaf, whose career spanned six decades and voice, three octaves, has died. He was 74. He sold more than a hundred million albums worldwide, with "Bat Out of Hell" one of the most successful in music history. The composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber, said the "vaults of heaven would be ringing with rock"; while Bonnie Tyler, who recorded an album with Meat Loaf, described him as a "larger than life character with a stage presence to match". Lorraine Crosby was the female vocalist on Meat Loaf's 1993 hit single "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That).
