Bringing people together from different cultures and communities in Suffolk and Norfolk.

This week Norfolk Pride take over the airwaves, Matt Herridge, Head of Campaigns talks about an LGBT+ History Month event on 27th February to celebrate the diversity of LGBT+ history. Matt also highlights the Advisory groups that pride run: Trans Advisory Group; Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Forum and an Access Group.

Stevie Savage, pride historian and the coordinator of the Black , Asian and Minority Ethic Forum. Stevie has curated the Pride Patchwork teling 60+ years of LGBT+ history in a quilt. Every day this month she is showcasing a patch from the quilt across our social media channels.

West Suffolk College students return this week, to talk with staff from UK Black Pride.

Elley Woolf shares her creative piece Voice Notes to my Child Self, that realises ideas of transition and change through a modern queer identity. Through words and audio composition, a conversation with the younger inner-self is developed, playing with ideas of growth, hope and modern understandings of self care. This work is a collaboration combining a poet-vocalist and a composer-producer, who seek to balance musical beauty and unflinching prosaical honesty. Voice Notes to my Child Self makes use of poetry and personal utterance, illuminated and elaborated upon by music, field recordings, interweaving voice notes, verse and complex harmonies; these elements combine to create a dreamlike soundscape reverberating with meaning and symbol, always playing with the central conceit of a voice note recording from the trans adult to the primordial child self.
