Challenging times for son Andrew, as Mum's dementia deepens

As Mum's dementia deepens she's increasingly 'absent', either asleep or staring into space. Carolyn was formally diagnosed with mixed dementia, vascular and Alzheimer's, early in 2018. Son Andrew talks openly about how challenging it is to witness his Mum's decline. However there are positives. A district nurse's request for an air mattress for her hospital style bed and an air cushion for her reclining chair was sorted out quickly. That means Mum's pressure sore is already healing well. Also an afternoon visit by a friend perks up both mother and son. Sue brings photographs of people they'd worked with and helps Mum have a drink. Mum and Me: The Dementia Diary was originally broadcast on 大象传媒 Radio Leeds.
