Major strides for AfCFTA as ministers agree on rules of origin
A key milestone in implementing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) has been achieved after the council of Ministers agreed on rules of origin which will cover 87.7% of goods across the continent. We speak with Dr Francis Mangeni, Advisor to the AFCFTA Secretariat, on how the trade body will prop up countries that lose revenue by removing tariffs using a new billion dollar fund.
Also, Uganda and Rwanda reopen land border after a three-year closure on the back of intense diplomacy.
