Coverage of the third and fourth run of the women's monobob at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
Barring a catastrophic error, Canadian-turned-American Kaillie Humphries will become the inaugural Olympic monobob gold medallist; she holds a massive lead of 1.04 seconds after the opening two heats. The 36-year-old was crowned champion in the two-woman event in 2010 and 2014, also earning bronze in 2018. A third Olympic bobsleigh title would leave her one shy of the all-time record, held by German pilot Andre Lange and brakeman Kevin Kuske. Canadian Christine de Bruin lies in second place, with Germany鈥檚 Laura Nolte 1.22 seconds behind in third and the USA鈥檚 Elana Meyers Taylor 1.32 seconds adrift in fourth.
