'Stolen' nutcracker returned to Ferndown family with 'same this year?' note
Cathi and Rob Woolrych, who live near Ferndown, have a collection of nutcracker figures - the wooden soldier with the red jacket and tall black hat seen in the ballet The Nutcracker Suite.
This Christmas, they bought a five-foot-six one - nicknamed Kaiser - to put outside their house.
But it went missing - until recently, when it was returned with a note saying: "Thanks for lending him to us for Xmas. Same time next year? Could you buy another one please? Two look better."
Cathi's been telling 大象传媒 Radio Solent's Steve Harris about what happened.
