Warrington Borough Council: No confidence motion
The leader of Warrington Borough Council has survived a no confidence motion.
An extraordinary meeting of the council had been called by the opposition Conservative group following the collapse of Together Energy, which the Council had invested over 拢30million in.
The firm had been 50 percent owned by the council when it ceased trading last month and administrators have now been appointed.
Russ Bowden, the Labour leader of the council, had criticised the timing of the calling of the meeting and said the council should wait until the administrators had finished their work.聽
Cathy Mitchell is a Labour Councillor, and Deputy Leader at Warrington Council.
