"I didn't ask for more pay."
The Harlow MP Robert Halfon responds to the 2.7% rise in MP's salary, worth £2,200, which comes into force in April.
Mr Halfon says he "didn't ask for more pay" and that "it's never good to raise MP's pay".
He says he will accept the raise but would have been happy with a pay freeze, which he was expecting to happen.
