Mariupol

The city of Mariupol is cut off from the outside world after days of continuous shelling.

A new attack at the border of Poland sparks fears of further escalation by Russian forces, as Vitaly updates us on what鈥檚 happened over the weekend. Meanwhile, footage from Mariupol shows the effects of being under siege for the past ten days, with Ukrainian authorities claiming over 2,500 deaths in the city.
As many flee, the remaining residents are unable to be contacted due to regular power outages.
Victoria speaks to a Ukrainian MP who grew up in Mariupol, and whose parents are still in the city, about what it鈥檚 like in that part of Ukraine, while Gabriel speaks to a woman from Scotland who has been unable to get in touch with her parents in Mariupol in the last ten days.
And we hear from Sergey Radchenko an expert in international relations and Russian security policy about the ongoing peace talks, and what we鈥檙e seeing from both sides of the conflict.

This episode of Ukrainecast was made by Estelle Doyle, with Emma Forde, Phil Marzouk, Chris Flynn, and Michele Theil. The studio director is Emma Crowe. The editor is Jonathan Aspinwall.
